Antonios Hatziefremidis has been an Associate Professor at the Department of Aircraft Technology, Technological Educational Institute of Sterea Ellada, Greece, since October 2008. He obtained the Diploma and the PhD Degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 1995 and 1999, respectively. From 1996 to 2000 he was a Research and Teaching Assistant at the Photonics Communications Research Laboratory (PCRL) at NTUA. In 2001 he joined Hellenic Aerospace Industry, initially in the Research & Development department as a Senior Research Engineer and latter he has become a Director in the Satellite Communication & Application department since 2008. His research interests include optical amplifiers, optical switching networks, multi-wavelength cw and pulsed laser sources for WDM/OTDM, optical wireless access among UAVs and satellite communications. He has been involved in various research projects being funded from National and European resources and has published more than 30 articles in scientific journals and international conferences including several invited contributions. He is member of IEEE, SPIE, OSA & Technical Chamber of Greece.
